Featured Speaker: Bill Horn on "Bahama Bones."
NCC-TU is grateful that fellow chapter member, Bill Horn, was able to pinch hit as our monthly speaker on May 9th. Bill is a seasoned angler who has fished far and wide. He has served as President of the Falling Spring Greenway, and he opened by explaining how our Chapter's recent $2,000.00 contribution to the Greenway will be helpful to the ongoing efforts to preserve this gem.
Bill then treated the Chapter to an evening of tales of bonefishing on North Andros. Just 90 miles east of Key West the azure skies, turquoise waters and, of course, the lightening fast bonefish of North Andros are within easy reach of the east coast angler.
Bill distilled the often mystifying skills used for bonefishing. Topics such as rod selection, the flies to use, when to go, and how to catch these finny missiles were presented understandably during the course of Bill's mesmerizing slide show. So, grab your 8-weight, pack your Red on Tan Gotchas, and make way for the Bahamas. Bill recommends the Mangrove Cay Club where the guides are excellent and the accommodations very pleasant.
