Special Pre-Show Casting Clinic


1:30p-4:00p – CASTING CLINICS with DAVE ROTHROCK, TOM SADLER, and DAVID CLEAVES
, widely recognized professional casting instructors. Lead Clinic Instructor DAVE ROTHROCK, of the Salmo-Trutta Enterprises, was on the first place casting team in the Northeastern Qualifier of the 2004 National Fly Fishing Masters Tournament.

The 2.5 hour personal instruction clinic will be an extended opportunity to improve casting fundamentals and specialty techniques, and is not suited for beginners. The clinic will be taught indoors in the Hanley Center for Athletic Excellence at Georgetown Preparatory School. Bring your own rod, reel, and line. Fee $75.00. 9:00a-10:30a -- PERSONAL INSTRUCTION FLY CASTING MASTER CLASS with MIKE LAWSON, nationally recognized expert fly casting instructor and author. Main Exhibit Hall. This indoor 1.5 hour personal instruction master class will focus on casting fundamentals and troubleshooting casting problems, and is not suited for beginners. The number of class participants will be strictly limited. Bring your own rod, reel, and line. Fee $50. Advance registration and payment required. 10:30a–11:00a -- FREE INDOOR FLY CASTING DEMONSTRATION: DAVE ROTHROCK on "Effective Casting." Main Exhibit Hall. Working hard to cast? Often too much effort produces too little cast. The effective cast doesn’t just look easy, it is easy. Learn from the master.

10:30a–11:30a -- CASTING FOR WOMEN with KIKI GALVIN. This one-hour personal instruction Fly-Casting Clinic will be held indoors in the Main Exhibit Hall. Fee $35. Participants bring own rod, reel, and line, or may rent limited number of casting outfits: adult rent, $10; youth 16 and under rent free. 11:30a-12:30p -- FREE FLY AND SPIN CASTING INSTRUCTION for YOUTH (16 and under). Main Exhibit Hall.

12:30p–1:00p -- FREE FLY CASTING DEMONSTRATION with DUSTY WISSMATH on "Improving Your Cast." Main Exhibit Hall. One of our region’s most accomplished casting instructors offers easy-to-learn tips to help you improve some common mistakes frequently made by many of us.

12:30p-1:30p -- CASTING FOR BEGINNERS with TOM SADLER. A one-hour personal instruction Fly-Casting Clinic will be held indoors in the Main Exhibit Hall. Fee $35. 2:00p–2:30p -- FREE FLY CASTING DEMONSTRATION: MIKE LAWSON on "Finding Your Casting Groove." Main Exhibit Hall. Our master instructor headliner gives a casting lesson for all fly casters, regardless of skill level or experience containing practical knowledge to help us learn to cast better.

3:30p–4:30p -- DISTANCE CASTING with DAVE ROTHROCK. This one-hour personal instruction Fly-Casting Clinic will be held indoors in the Main Exhibit Hall. Fee $35.
