ANNUAL RAPIDAN RIVER WEEKEND OUTING
Last modified: May 3, 2006.

Each year in the early spring following the Chapter’s Annual National Capital Angling Show, members, families, and friends enjoy a three-day weekend outing to the fabled upper Rapidan River adjacent to the Shenandoah National Park. The group spends Friday through Sunday catching beautiful native brook trout that have lived in those waters for thousands of years. Participants are housed in the five rustic, historic Rapidan Cabins located on the banks of the rushing river in the Rapidan State Wildlife Management Area next to the National Park. You fall asleep each night to the soothing sounds of the river’s picturesque falls, pools, and riffles right below your window, and dream of those elusive, exciting, and vividly colorful native brookies out there just waiting for you.

This outing is very popular each year, so watch our Calendar in March and April for details about this trip. You won’t want to miss this exciting and relaxing weekend of fishing, eating, resting, and more fishing.
