About National Capital Chapter - Trout Unlimited

We are the National Capital Chapter of Trout Unlimited (NCC-TU), the eleventh Trout Unlimited chapter formed nationwide, and the original and largest local chapter serving the Washington, DC region. NCC-TU is a non-profit organization established to protect, enhance, and restore coldwater fishing resources of North America, particularly those in the Mid-Atlantic region. Your participation and support are welcomed at both the local and national levels.

Established more than 50 years ago, Trout Unlimited (TU), our national organization, is today composed of 125,000 grassroots volunteers in 500 local chapters nationwide. TU accomplishes its mission with an extensive and dedicated volunteer network organized into local Chapters such as NCC-TU.

NCC-TU members are active throughout the region in many conservation and education projects, which include habitat conservation and restoration, summer conservation youth camps, programs for recovering wounded military personnel, and other projects. We use our website and email to keep our members informed of issues and events relevant to the Chapter's mission. (For many years we published a monthly newsletter on paper, Riffles, some of which are archived at the website.)

NCC-TU organizes annually in March The National Capital Angling Show. Now in its third decade, the National Capital Angling Show is the original Mid-Atlantic Fly-Fishing Show. The Show is an all-volunteer effort by conservationists and anglers who support and enjoy working for fisheries conservation. All proceeds from the Show and other activities go to fisheries conservation and education projects.

The general membership of the NCC-TU chapter meets on the second Wednesday of October, November, January, February, April, and May each year, at the Bethesda-Chevy Chase Services Center at 4805 Edgemoor Lane in downtown Bethesda, Maryland. For more information on our meetings and activities, see our Activities Page.

Our Board meets on the last Wednesday of the month in the homes of Directors. The public is encouraged to attend Board meetings; email contact@ncc-tu.org for details if you wish to attend.
